Biography

Distortion was initially formed as a high school band by a bunch of friends in their final year of high school. Surya Goutham (Lead guitarist) and Revanth Prem Kumar (Rhythm guitarist) are two talented guitar-playing brothers who joined the band later by the end of the year 2010. They also influenced the band highly by bringing in a lot of flavor for this particular genre of music which made the entire sound of the band much better. The band initially started off doing covers during the earlier stages, but later moved on to composing original content. The band evolved through the years and grew as musicians along with it. The band writes its music based on things that, as youngsters, can be comprehended. And providentially the crowd can relate to it as well. The band’s genre can be described as alternative/punk rock music. Nevertheless, they like to experiment based on the feel of the band at any particular moment. They have been competing at various college festivals and have been placed at most, along with individual awards. They have also performed at other events and festivals across the city. The main influences of the band are Green Day, Bowling for Soup, The Hives, etc.
