Dinesh Bana is a wicketkeeper and batsman who plays for the Indian cricket team at the Under-19 level. He has also represented Haryana in the domestic game.Dinesh is a student in the 12th standard. He scored 85% marks in the 10th standard and is extremely good at reading.His father, Dinesh Bana, who is retired from the army and serves as a head constable in Haryana Police, said that he never stopped Dinesh from playing although he wanted him to become an engineer. He feels that Dinesh plays at middle-lower order and if given a chance in the upper order, his batting would grab the attention of the whole world. He had scored 20 runs in four balls while batting fiercely with a strike rate of 500, which includes 2 sixes and 2 fours. This made him the first cricketer in the world to score runs from only boundaries by playing 4 or more balls in any category of mens or womens or under-19 cricket.In the Under-19 World Cup final, Dinesh successfully proved his worth by hitting 2 sixes in 2 consecutive balls of fast bowler James Sales of England. He remained unbeaten on 13 runs off 5 balls and also managed to take 4 catches.
