Biography

Deuel Khual is a professional guitarist based out of Manipur. He hails from a small village in Manipur where a profession in music was unheard of and considered an impossibility. He used to visit his friend who owned a guitar in the hopes of playing it, since he only dreamed of having his own guitar. Pushing against all odds, he was successful in his endeavors and is now living his dream as a classical guitarist, arranger, and performer. Some of his inspirations include Joey Woch, Eric Johnson, John Williams and Segovia. Performed at: Opened a concert for Dale Kavanagh from Canada, Kolkata International Classical Guitar Festival (December 2014) Participated in the competition under open category, Kolkata International Classical Guitar Festival, Kolkata (December 2014) Secured 1st position at the State Level Youth Festival, Nagaland organised by the Youth and Resource Department 1st runner up at the 19th National Youth Festival, Guwahati (January 2015) Awarded the 1st runners up at the National Guitar Contest organised by Sky Entertainment, Nagaland 2013 Received Honors Award by SSPP (Siamsinpawlpi) General Headquarters (13 January 2014) Performed in ZOLMA (Zogam Online Music Award) in December 2013 Released classical Guitar solo, single debut titled ‘Tulpaan Kaizouta’ Received two appreciation certificates by the Zomi Welfare Association for the success in his music career (20 February 2015) Performed in KUT, a tribal festival held in Shillong (1 November 2014)
