Daya Sankar is a professional percussionist based out of Kerala, India. Having a keen interest in the rhythm section of music led him to learn tabla for 13 years. He took to playing drums at the age of ten. His passion gave him several opportunities to perform with notable musicians like Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Karthik, Sujatha, Srinivas, Vijay Prakash, Giridhar Udupa (ghatam player), Keith Peters (bass guitarist), Ravichandra Kulur (flute player), and Bala Bhaskar (violin virtuoso) to name a few. He has toured extensively for shows abroad including UK, Columbo, Dubai, China and, Singapore. He is also a part of AUM band. Daya also conducts drum classes for aspiring drummers in Calicut.
