Clown with a Frown is a Bangalore-based band that got into existence in 2011. The band plays pop and funk rock genres, and focuses upon dance music by redefining sounds from the 70s era. The band draws influences from the veterans like Chic, Jamiroquai, Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & the Gang, Steely Dan, and Tower of Power. Their sound is usually a blend of jazz, funk, fusion, R&B, soul, reggae and disco – together making the modern pop rock style. Clown with a Frown uses groovy bass lines and simple upbeat rhythms along with soulful vocals and heavy horns.
