She has also represented India in various international beauty pageants including Miss Asia World 2017.Chum was born and brought up in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, India. When during a media interaction she was asked about how she got selected for the film, she said, For Badhaai Do, I gave three auditions. I saw this casting ad on FB and I randomly texted the team and went for my auditions and it just happened. The character that I am playing, she is such a fun girl and the tag of playing Bhumis love interest did not really bother me. It was a challenge to play a role like that but I had no inhibitions. I remember my first meeting with Raj (Rajkummar Rao) Sir. I met him at the lift. I was going down for my reading. And he was also coming, and I said, Hi, Sir. And he said, Hi. So I asked him Are you coming for the reading? He said, No, I think Im not doing the movie. And I was like, Okay. So he was fooling around. That is Raj for you.
