Boomarang is a five-piece LIVE band hailing from Aizawl, Mizoram. In 2008, popular magazine Rolling Stone included the band amongst the ‘Ten New Indian Acts to Watch Out For’. The intense flow of the band’s music is triggered by two soulful six-string players blended with a thundering and groovy down-tone from the man behind the low notes. The drummer, who is a maniac – dynamically rams with Rockefeller stellar-like enigma and perseverance, illuminating from the actively-dreaded front man. Truly, a blizzard act to reckon with. Performed at: Pubs Someplace Else, Hard Rock Cafe, Mezz, Opus, Barcode, Aquifier, Turquoise Cottage, Rectohub, Regal, Regent Cafe, On the Roxx, Kyra Theater, Lodhi Gardens, Zara, B Flat, Café Chinese and Thai, Blues, Tango, Silver Streak, Amigos, etc. Contests Winners at IIT Guwahati, Nokia Lords of Music, and NIT Silchar Runners-up at Independence Rock Mumbai 2007 Played alongside top International acts such as Aurora Jane, Dub Shack, Scott Kinsey band (Tribal Tech), Firehouse, Intronout, Lamb of God, Enslaved, Massive Change, and some reputed Indian bands like Soul Mate, 3rd Sovereign, Parikrama, Menwhopause, Indian Ocean, Scribe, Pentagram, Them Clones, Thermal and A Quarter, etc. Festivals Great Indian Rock, Roots, Korea-Indo Fest, Nezecc Octave, Eastwind, Deep Woods, World Music Day, Boat, Summer Storm, Escape, Nokia Yaoushang Rock Show, Hornbill, North East Music Festival, etc. The band released its first album with Universal Music, called ‘Home’. The single, ‘Stellar’, reached among VH1 ‘top 10’ and stayed there for three weeks. Besides, the album received positive responses.
