Noida is very similar to Delhi in many ways. Both cities enjoy the same festivals, holidays, food. But the expansive green open areas make Noida a perfect location for anyone who is looking for solace from the hectic Delhi life.
But, despite the commercialization and industrialization, Noida has managed to maintain its own traditions and cultures by forming several cultural associations and clubs like the Bengali Culture Club, etc.
Noida has played host to several famous music festivals like the NH7 Weekender, etc.
Some of the most happening bands from the city are Life Tatva, Bhairav, Man Goes Human, The Uncertainty Principle, Colossal Figures, Ibaadat, Murk Blare, etc.
Life TatvaWhat unites the five diverse band members is their love for music, that ardent desire to bring life to beautiful musical creations and the respect they hold for quality music.
They believe in spreading our music in its true sense, and building audiences who would enjoy their creations. It is all about gigs, respect, and love.
BhairavConceptualized in 2009, Bhairav is fueled with extreme reverence for Lord Shiva and old school metal music.
Extolling the virtues of Vedic philosophy and integrating those into a contemporary metal articulation, the band evinces a discernible novelty in their approach towards the otherwise so popular form of music.
The torchbearers of Vedic metal in India, Bhairav brings round Vedic metal in line with classical thrash/extreme metal scene of the 80's, as laid down by famed mammoths like Slayer, Kreator, Sepultura, Metallica, Megadeth, Sodom, Holy Moses, Coroner, Exumer etc.
Experimenting with different musical tones, the band occasionally issues various ethnic percussion instruments into their music to present a rustic Indian flavor.
Man Goes HumanRepresented by the artist-management agency, Protovision, the band has traveled to Singapore for their LIVE tours. In August 2014, The War of the Jammers, a two-month long contest organized by Hindustan Times, was won by the band, in DLF Cyber Hub, Gurgaon, defeating 60 bands.
'Ba Ba Black Sheep' and 'Fading' two of their famous singles, gained a lot of ears. The latter one made it to MTS India's top-three most-played track, rising from hundreds of entries.
The Uncertainty PrincipleThis Noida-based band was founded by Nishant and Abhishek. After a few line-up changes, the band has found stability and has developed its own sound, with influences from progressive rock bands like Karnivool and Tool.
Today, the line-up is an amalgamation of members with similar musical tastes and goals. The Uncertainty Principle made its mark on the music scene after winning at IIT Delhi, in 2011.
They continued to play in a lot of competitions in Delhi winning several. At the national level, they stood as runners-up at the BITS Goa'12 and the Hard Rock Rising12.
Dead Letter Circus, Viatrophy, Sylosis, and Karnivool are some of the famous bands The Uncertainty Principle has opened for. They continue to regularly play gigs, both in and outside Delhi.
In late 2012, The Uncertainty Principle was chosen by Rolling Stone India, among the top five bands picked from around the country to play the 'Rayban Never Hide Sounds Concert' in Mumbai. A music video was also shot by the band, along with creating a song in collaboration with the heavyweights, Indus Creed.
Colossal FiguresColossal Figures is a band that was founded in December 2009, by some creative musicians coming from diverse backgrounds and beginning with metalcore. They quickly transformed themselves to an advanced standpoint but stayed loyal to their roots, however.
The key idea of the band rested not only on delivering heavy connotations of music and stimulating lyrical content, but it also focused on a multidimensional approach to let the listeners think not only fundamentally, but paradoxically, too.
IbaadatIt is a classical fusion band creating music for more than two years now. They have composed one hit single and will be coming out with a second song soon.
Ibaadat has performed at best places in Delhi-NCR like Hauz Khas Village, Cyber Hub, etc as well as commercial gigs and corporate gigs for Bank of Baroda, Dabur, Inalsa, LIC, Adharshila Eduventures, etc.
