Bombay Bairag is a fusion/Sufi LIVE band based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. The band was formed in early 2015 with a few like-minded musicians. Their music is contemporary, yet rooted in Indian classical and Sufi traditions.
Melody and soulfulness is what Bombay Bairag is all about. They are a Sufi fusion band but, more importantly, they are storytellers. Bombay Bairag is a collaboration of musicians joined through their common devotion to music; the shared joy of making music together.
Bombay Bairag owes its name to its genre of music and the spirit of the city. The music was taking roots in the city of Mumbai (erstwhile Bombay). Mumbai, for them, is a city they love to their death, and the expression 'Bombay', for them, is the spirit of that city.
Bairag reflects the essence of the band's music, which is creating music with complete devotion; to seek it as a curious child and unconditionally.
