Bohiragoto is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. The genres of the band are hard rock, Carnatic rock, pop rock, progressive metal, and progressive rock. Some of their inspirations are Dream Theater, Creed, Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, RHCP, Periphery, Fossils, Cactus, The Anupam Roy Band, and Lakkhichhara. Band Members: Vocals – Rangan Basu
A first-year journalism student, Rangan is particularly enthusiastic about music, with tastes ranging from Pink Floyd to Fossils. His tryst with music began as early as when he was in second grade, and he has never looked back since. Guitars – Bhiswadeb Guha
His penchant for music stems from his father’s obsession for Panchamda’s tunes. With a sound basis in Indian classical music, Bhiswadeb prefers to speak less and let his hands do the talking. Keyboards – Pratik Rakshit
A third-year student of Political Science at Scottish Church College, Pratik has been playing the keyboards for 13 years now. Influenced mainly by the likes of Jordan Rudess, Jon Lord, and obviously the one and only Nabarun Bose, he likes to be elusively simple rather than ostensibly complex. Bass – Saptarshi Dey
A first-year English honours student, Saptarshi Dey is a name that rings bells everywhere. Having previously collaborated with many bands in the Kolkata circuit, Saptarshi has been playing with the rest of the members of this group since ninth grade and is regarded as one of the rising bassists of the city. Drums – Rishov Ghosh
A first-year engineering student from CIEM, Rishov is a demon that could make his drums talk. From prog to pop, this guy knows it all and could unnerve you with what he plays. He has his inspiration in the likes of Mike Portnoy, Marco Minneman, and Gavin Harrison. Having a myriad musical range, Rishov has a brilliant sense of keeping time and is most definitely the base of the monument that is Bohiragoto.
