Blues Conscience is a four-piece LIVE band based out of the capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. The alternative/blues/Bollywood band was started to promote blues music in today's world of metal and rock-dominated music. They began their journey in 2008 to rediscover blues music. The founding members, Aum Janakiram and Anek Ahuja, were quick to recognize the growing dearth of blues in the LIVE music scene of their city, and hence invited Neil Smith on the drums, along with saxophonist Maarten Visser. The band was later joined by Siddharth Kumar on the keyboards, completing the lineup. After recording a demo EP in 2010, the band received an excellent response for their original and refreshing music style with cheeky lyrical work in songs like Kamasutra, Obama, and Shaggin’ Ma Dog.  In 2012, the band brought on board an LA-based guitar player and producer, Ed Degenaro, to work on 'Down and Dirty' – the official album of Blues Conscience, which comprised of 14 original songs and collaborations featuring some amazing blues musicians. The band possesses tailored set lists for pubs shows, parties, and large-venue gigs. They also perform covers, right from the blues legends like BB King, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Santana, and Ray Charles to Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and James Brown.
