Big Deal aka Samir Rishu Mohanty is a professional rapper based out of the IT capital of India, Bangalore. It all began with some anguish, frustration and unspoken feelings that had to be put out to the world. Penning down the rhymes with emotions wasn't easy in the start but hard work and perseverance overcame even the challenges. At first it was just the rhymes and later the beats were composed. He is a one-man band who effectively plays the roles of singer, rapper, beat producer and lyricist. Big Deal hails from Puri, Orissa, born to a Japanese mother and an Indian father. He moved to Darjeeling, to complete his secondary education, and this is where he got introduced to hip-hop. He began rapping when he was 18. He began to pen down his own thoughts, in rhythmic patterns. He picked up topics from his everyday life for rap lyrics. He represents the common man – 'aam aadmi' – and tells their story using witty lines and fantastic wordplay.
