Bhayanak Maut is metal LIVE band based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. The name of the band translates to 'horrific death'. The music is an eclectic blend of groove metal, hardcore and death metal. The band was formed in the year 2003, by Jaison and Sriram, who further recruited Sera Kattoua Aman, R.Venkatraman, Ravi Balakrishnan, and Rahul Hariharan to the lineup. At present, R. Venkatraman is the only remaining member of the original lineup. With more than 13 years of experience, Bhayanak Maut has performed at college festivals like: Oasis, BITS Pilani RAIT Horizons IIT Chennai – Saarang (Finalists) NLS Strawberry Fields, Bangalore Goa's Waves Festival The band has played at venues like Cyclone, Pune. They played for the first time at Razzberry Rhinoceros and second at the SIES Sion college festival. The first gig with Vinay as the frontman was in JRO 2004 and they also stood third at the Blitzkrieg 2004 – the IIT Delhi competition. Played alongside Norwegian band, 'Enslaved', at GIR in 2007 (New Delhi) Reached the finals of Channel V Launchpad LIVE at Hard Rock Cafe, New Delhi (2007) Played with Satyricon and Sahg at the Great Indian Rock (GIR) show, Mumbai (2008) In 2009, Jai Row Kavi replaced Rahul Hariharan and took on the drum duties. The band played at GIR 2009 in Pune and Delhi, where it shared the stage with Norway's Benea Reach. In December 2009, Bhayanak Maut played with Holland's Textures and Sweden's Amon Amarth at the Deccan Rock 2009 in Bangalore, India. Rahul Hariharan came back in the band in October 2010, and the band released their second EP – 'Metastasis', on 20 October 2010. The band has performed at Inferno Festival 2011 Oslo, Norway, where they played with big names like Today is the Day, and more. They are also a regular at Bacardi NH7 Weekender Festival. In November 2011, they played at Chitrakoot Grounds in Mumbai, for 26th Independence Rock Fest. Albums: Hell Is All People (2004) Untitled (2009) MAN (2014) The band featured in the compilation album 'Fine Tuned Disasters', which was released in August 2006. They released their second studio album in August 2009. The album received a four-star review from the Rolling Stone magazine in September 2009. It also won 'Album of the year' – Critics Choice Award at the Jack Daniels Rock Awards in 2010.?
