Bajaow was formed in early 2012 by a bunch of professional musicians with a flair for improvisation and an ear for perfection, who all share a deep-rooted love for rock 'n roll. The band’s vision is pretty straightforward – give people a no holds barred, all frills, all thrills musical joy-ride! Drawing inspiration from and often playing the music of greats like Deep Purple, The Doobie Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd and U2, to name a few, Bajaow have already endeared themselves to their audiences. What makes the band even more entertaining is the conscious choice not to be bogged down by any language. If it is rock 'n roll, the band will, well, 'bajaow' it. Having already played for a whole load of prestigious clients at venues like I-Bar at the Park Hotel and F-Bar, Bajaow is constantly on the look-out for new venues to play and new audiences to conquer. The band collectively have more than 1000 hrs of stage time to their credit. Bajaow comprises of: Venky – He started his music career around 6 years back behind the closed walls of his bathroom and from then he has just been on one insane trip! A completely homegrown, self-taught musician who is driven by passion and substance. He has bagged several best vocal performer awards at various national level competitions and music festivals across the country. Some of them include two consecutive wins at Whiplash '07 and '08 (BMSCE), Hellraiser '08 and '09 (IIML), Unmad '08 and '09 (IIMB), Spandan '07 (JIPMER). Yadhu – At a young age of 22, Yadhu has done what takes musicians years to accomplish. Having toured extensively with artistes like Vasundhara Das and Roberto Narain’s Drum Jam to name but a few, Yadhu’s most recent conquest was opening for American prog-metal icons Periphery. His other musical pursuits include classic rock outfit Illuminati and melodic metal powerhouses Verses. Suraj – Suraj is a seasoned guitar player, with an innate ability to shift with ease between styles of music. With over 100 hrs. of studio time recording for various projects behind him, his current projects include Verses and thrash heavyweights Neolithic Silence. Siddarth – Probably one of most talented musicians around, Siddarth handles both keys and rhythm guitars for both Bajaow and LIVE Banned, one of the country’s most powerful LIVE acts. In additional to being a multi-instrumentalist, Siddarth is also a music producer with his own professional studio. Narayan – An old-timer with over 12 years and a few hundred shows under his belt, Narayan holds the bottom end of the band down as the bass player. Having shared stage with international extreme metal icons like Satyricon, Lamb of God, Metallica and Periphery, Bajaow is Narayan’s outlet to his roots in rock 'n roll. His other bands include heavy metal monsters Lucidreams and Neolithic Silence. Bhushan – Entering the Bangalore music scene with Illuminati way back in 2004, Bhushan has been playing 6 strings for the past 9 years. Passionate about his blues and classic rock, he is currently involved in three other projects and remains active in the Bangalore music circuit.
