On 16 August 2004, she became a director of APD Properties Ltd. This was followed by taking up the directorship role at Bantala IT Infrastructure Ltd. on 23 June 2008. Both the guys followed her in Honda City and also damaged her car in an attempt to scare her. Baishali saw the cops nearby and called them for help. The association accused the Baishali Dalmiya, Avishek Dalmiya, and other company directors of misappropriating funds given by the government for constructing the Kolkata Leather Complex after laying down the wastewater pipeline. The wastewater pipelines had to be constructed using non-corrosive and highly durable HDPE pipelines as per the UN guidelines. The company was accused of using brick sewer and RCC pipelines for the transport of toxic effluents. After this complaint, police went for inspecting the site and found the allegation to be true, after which an FIR was filed against the company. She was instantly given the party ticket to contest the Legislative Assembly elections. She contested the election from Bally Assembly Constituency and won it. From 2016 to 2021, she worked as a BJP MLA. She talked about this incident and said, His (Ahmeds) allegation is completely false. I have never taken a paisa from anyone. The complaint was filled by Tajbil Ahmed, who was the poll agent of the All India Trinamool Congress in the 2021 elections. As per him, she hid two lawsuits against her out of which two were logged at the Kolkata Leather Complex police station and one was the Hare Street Police case. He also appealed to cancel her nomination for the 2021 assembly election.
