Aurko Live – The First Rays of Sun (in Sanskrit) is one of India's leading Hindi folk rock bands. They are well known for breaking generation barriers owing to their versatility, and have consistently created new paths, with their intense, cause-driven initiatives. They have performed LIVE at ‘Alive India in Concert’ – India’s first open-air pure music destination, where they collaborated with India’s leading musicians. Altogether they have done 421 successful LIVE concerts in 21 cities of India, along with international concert tours and three music albums with Times Music. The albums are compilations of 26 originals that are an absolute bliss to the ear. Aurko has got five prestigious channel nominations in their music journey of 14 years, along with many press write-ups and reviews. Aurko’s debut Hindi album – Nadiya – got released in 2006 under the Times Music label. The album got nominated for MTV Super Select, Channel V Next Big Thing!, B4U Artist of the Month, SS Music Artist of the Month, Sangeet Bangla Artist of the Month, MH1 Artiste of the Month. The band adds groovy Indian folk that leads to epic madness at their LIVE gigs. The members of the band bring-in distant cultural and religious influences. They also play in languages like Bangla, Kannada, Assamese and Punjabi. Their signature song – ‘Goa – Bengal Express Medley’ – makes audiences freak out as the crowds end up in forming a dancing train across the arena. They also performed with Boney M, for an audience of over 35000, at the IIPM Fest, Palace Grounds, Bangalore. They have also jammed LIVE with Indian veterans like Remo Fernandes, Rabbi, Zubeen Garg, Kunal Ganjawala, Abhijeet, Akriti Kakar, Nikhil D’Souza, and many more. Aurko rose to national fame with their jingle for the telecom company TATA Docomo. The jingle was nominated in the best jingle category by Hungama.com. Aurko got featured in Star Plus’s Music Ka Maha Muqqabla. Aurko has performed in Delhi, Gurgaon, Chennai, Jamshedpur, Faridabad, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Mumbai, Kolkata, Patna, Siliguri, Durgapur, Pune, Amby Valley, Lucknow, Jamshedpur, and Rourkela.
