Asia Electrik is spear-headed by world percussionist Sivamani, who has recently made his debut as a film music composer. Siva is accompanied by keyboardist, Louiz Banks, who is an extraordinary music maestro. Whilst he’s most famous as the man behind the anthemic ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’, he was recently nominated for the Grammy Award for his album ‘Miles to India’. The third member is the dynamic Niladri Kumar, a brilliant, young sitar virtuoso, who incorporates traditional Indian classical vocabulary into the band’s repertoire. He is also the inventor of the electric sitar, which he has aptly coined as ‘Zitar’.
