The next day, the family alleged that when they tried to name Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the FIR, the police showed reluctance and even threw them out of the station.On 22 June 2017, the victim named Shubham Singh, Awdhesh Tiwari, Brijesh Yadav, and other unknown assailants for abduction and gang rape in her statement that she recorded in front of a Judicial Magistrate under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). Following this, the accused were detained after a second FIR was registered later under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
