Biography

Anuradha Sriram is a professional singer based out of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She has sung more than 3000 film songs in all the south Indian languages and six north Indian languages.  Her Tamil pop album, 'Chennai Girl', released in 1997, was a super hit and won the Screen Videocon Award for the best pop album in 1998, along with AR Rahman’s Vande Mataram. Anuradha co-composed the album with her husband, Sriram Parasuram, and wrote all the lyrics for the album as well. She also has composed and directed the music for Sri Manirathnam’s film, 'Five Star'.  One of the most vibrant and sought after stage performers, Anuradha has staged hugely successful shows all over the world such as Malaysia, Singapore, America, South Africa, Gulf countries, Australia, Canada, Europe, West Indies, etc. She also collaborates with her husband on their classical music jugalbandhi concerts and the TV programme, 'Elaame Sangeetham Thaan'. She has also anchored many hit music programmes on TV. Anuradha has been a student of musical legends such as T Brinda, Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Sri Tanjavur S Kalyanaraman, and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri T Viswanathan. She has also learnt Hindustani music under Pandit Manikbua Thakurdas. Anuradha has done many radio and television programmes since the age of 12. She is also an accomplished western classical opera singer.
