Anoop R Nair is a professional piano player/keyboardist and guitarist based out of Kerala, India. He is a gifted musician who has won many awards during his school and college days. Anoop began to bloom as an artist and rendered his first performance as a professional in 2003 by joining as a guest musician in the violin mastero Balabhaskar's 'Big Band', and thereafter, he never looked back. He had his basic training in Carnatic vocal for more than a decade from Smt Sreedevi and Mr Mangad Nadeshan. He developed a strong liking towards the piano at the age of 12. His innate desire to acquire deep insight over music was nurtured under the scholarly guidance of Jimmy Mathew. Anoop was given advanced training lessons in jazz by the illustrious guitarist, Sumit Ramachandran. He has been accredited in electronic keyboard by Trinity College of Music, London. Anoop is a delight to watch when his fingers follow his musical insight. His performances are infused with warmth and freshness. He has a genuine inner urge to reach out and communicate with people from all walks of life. His open mind has led to an extension of his musical horizon to incorporate imaginative experiments in different music styles that delight the young and the old. His zest and zeal for classical music motivated him to experiment more on Carnatic rock and fusion. His father, Rajagopalan, foresaw his musical talent to name him 'Anoop' without 'Jalota'. Being the grandson of brother of erudite musician, MS Viswanathan, Anoop showed a keen interest in music at a young age. He was initiated into the world of music and his musical talent was surfaced with the great support of his father, who was a drummer himself. He has provided piano accompaniment to many other eminent musicians in several concerts all over south India and abroad. He has performed with Ranjit Barot, Sivamani, Padmashri Mattanur Shankarankutty, Keith Peters, Sridhar, Parthasarathy, and many others. Anoop is the the pianist and handles synthesizer section in S36 the Band, owned by the cricketer, S Sreeshanth. S36 is the official band of Rajasthan Royals for the IPL Season 5. Anoop leverages his considerable skills as a DJ as well. He loves exploring and experimenting on different styles and genres of music. With the knowledge and experience gained over the years, Anoop feels he has yet to use his musical talents to its fullest potential because of which he still takes lessons from renowned professionals in the music industry.
