He was introduced to Cricket by Rosemary Dismore, who employed his mother as a domestic worker.With the help of Rosemary, he got the hockey scholarship from Glenwood High School, Durban, South Africa.He also received the Daily News UKZN School Sports Star of the year award at Independent Newspapers.He later decided to be a cricketer as it was financially more helpful.In 2014, he was selected for the South Africa Under-19 World Cup but was played in only one match.In the same year, he started playing with the Dolphins cricket team in the Champions League T20.He later earned a place in top XI players of South Africa and played against England in Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa.In 2016, he earned the maximum wickets for South Africa in ODI that played against Australia. In that series, South Africa also clean sweep with 5-0 against Australia.After playing in only 24 first-class games, he got the chance to play against England in Test match series.Earlier, he used to be a non-vegetarian but in 2013, he turned vegetarian.
