Amjad Ali Khan is a professional Singer based out of the capital of India, New Delhi. He is a direct descendent of Ustad Abdul Karim Khan and the legendary Sartaj-e-Mousiqui, Ustad Abdul Wahid Khan who founded the famous Kirana Gharana. Amjad Ali Khan is the son of Ustad Akhtar Nawaz Khan, a disciple of Padmashree Ustad Shakoor Khan. He is a classified ‘A’ grade artist of Doordarshan and AIR, Delhi. He has participated in several television serials like Shareeke Ghalib Tele Films and Ahsaas Parampara. He has performed in music festivals like Arpan and Shopan Mahotsav, Delhi; Delhi Youth Fest, 2011; Mangubai Music Festival; Tihai Music Festival; and Samarth Music Festival, Goa. He ranked first among 85 other participants at the Hari Vallabh Music Festival, 2002. He received a scholarship from Sahitya Kala Parishad, Delhi and the Young Talented Artist Scholarship from the Department of Culture, Government of India. He is also a panel artist at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Amjad Ali Khan has also performed in international events like China Asian Festival 2004, Namaste India 2009 (Japan), Vienna Music Festival, and a lot more. His brilliant career is studded with numerous titles like the Suro ke Silsile Award 1999, Best Vocal Award 2000, Kaka Saheb Gaurdill 2000, Hari Vallabh Music Award 2003, Jhankar Music Award 2002, and the Surmani 2004. He is the first recipient of all the above awards. Apart from classical music, Amjad Ali Khan can also sing Thumri, Dadra and Bhajan with equal ease.
