Amalgamates is a DJ/production project that started out when the duo – Ajit Sarathi and Ankit Verma – joined forces in 2007. From the last few years, Amalgamates has been established firmly within the underground dance music scene. The duo provides groovy progressive sounds with elements of minimal tech and techno. Ajit was born in Himachal Pradesh and brought up in the capital city of India, New Delhi. He began his DJing career at an early age under the influences of old school dance musicians and groups from the late 90s. He is also trained in Indian classical music. He contributes his special touch to every party by a mixture of charisma and his particular choice of music. His rich experience as a DJ has made him a sure-fire crowd-mover at any given party. Ajit's stint as a resident DJ in 2003–08 gave him the ideal platform to experiment with electronic sounds and create new musical styles. Inspired by the global underground sounds, he is serving a stunning mix somewhere between his very own progressive style and the modern minimal techno making his sets unique. Ankit has earned a good reputation for the quality of his DJing. Renowned for crafting seamless mixes of distinction, as a DJ, his sets have gleaned notoriety for their smooth programming, flawless transitions and constant, resonant groove. His antics and style of spinning along with his strength with the mice and ability to connect with people through his music has made him popular with the crowd in a very short span of time. He makes sure that their sound is not a run-of-the-mill.
