Born in the United States, Akshay moved to India and worked in Prithvi theatre during which he learned a lot about acting and also about the Indian Cinema. He did several plays during that time and mastered some of the skills that he learned during his time in the States. He then went on to make his debut in Sooraj Barjatya's directed film "Isi Life Mein". He was praised by the critics for his role and it helped him showcase his acting skills to the audiences. He was specifically praised for his dialogue delivery, He was then seen in Pizza, a remake of the Tamil film, he was again one of the Standout performers and was highly praised for his acting. Since then he has gone onto act in several films and earning rave reviews has become a norm for him.
