Biography

Akhil R Pillai is a classically trained vocalist.Learned carnatic classical vocals for 4 years and has a stage experience of more than a decade. He has actively been performing music in and around Delhi with genres ranging from Classical, folk, fusion in Hindi, English and other regional languages. He has been a star performer and achiever at various competitions and national level events.Touring the country for the past two years,Akhil has been rigorously doing shows in various pubs,clubs,corporate events and private parties.A power packed performer and an ardent musician,he brings the audience to a level of musical happiness. -Akhil won the "Best Vocalist" award in solo singing category at "The official Gig" organized by Hindustan Times  and Experion Developers during September-2015 -Akhil was selected among the top 5  from among 800 contestants and reached the finals of IDEA ROCKS INDIA Season 6,organized by IDEA, (Bhopal-2014).The event was judged by Ms.Sunidhi Chauhan. -He bagged second prize in "Mix Voice of Delhi" organized by national television channel Sony Mix. -He was also invited for the silent auditions of "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa"-2015 and cracked the top 20 list during the auditions. (Contestants for silent auditions are specially invited via certain mediums.The contestants are selected according to the popularity and musical background analysis by experts). -He is the front man and Vocalist of the Delhi based Rock/Alt band "Ved".The band reached the finals of "Friday jam season 2" organized by Hindustan Times and DLF Cyberhub,during July-2015 and was critically acclaimed for the energy packed show.Special mention by the judges made it evident that the band has the potential to make it big. A sure shot and value for money artist!!
