Aditya Choudhary is an Indian athlete who is the record holder of being the worlds youngest Ironman.Ironman 70.3 or Half Ironman is one of the series of long-distance triathlon races, which is organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC). It is comprised of a 1.9 km long swim, 90km bike ride, and 21.1 km run that totals up to 113 km or 70.3 miles.Aditya has been practicing swimming since the age of 4. [1]Youth Connect.At the age of 5, he had certain ENT issues due to which he underwent his first surgery for Adenoid. A tube was put in his ear and he was forbidden from swimming by the doctor.He enjoys playing musical instruments and has also been playing tabla since the age of 6.After a few years, he began swimming again, and his Adenoid regrew. In 2012, he had another surgery in which his tonsils were also removed.Later, he joined Judo, but his ENT issues led to some changes in his facial structure, and he got braces after which he wasnt allowed to play Judo as well.He then started swimming again along with cycling and running. This is when his journey to become the worlds youngest Ironman began.In January 2014, Aditya completed the standard chartered marathon with his father. Aditya and his father at the standard chartered marathon in 2014.The minimum age to participate in the triathlon is 18 years, and coincidentally, Aditya turned 18 on the day of the triathlon in 2019, i.e., on 7 December 2019, becoming the worlds youngest Ironman.
