Later he worked with Indian Oil as an executive.During his job with Indian Oil, he participated in various theatrical ventures and plays.Potdar continued acting as a hobby, he never struggled for his acting career and he never asked for roles. He did only those roles that came his way.Achyut Potdar is good friends with filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and is almost a fixed character in his films.
