Captain Abhilasha Barak is an officer in the Indian Army. She is known for becoming the first combat helicopter pilot in the history of the Indian Army.Abhilasha Barak in 2014, was working as a trainee with Indias premier defence institute, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Abhilasha also worked as an intern with the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.In 2015, Abhilasha Barak worked as an intern with The Smart Cube.In 2016, after completing her B Tech, Abhilasha Barak worked as a Business Tech Analyst at Deloitte US.In 2017, Abhilasha Barak joined the Officers Training Academy; from where she completed her training on 07 September 2018. Abhilasha Barak while training at OTA.In 2018, after her passing out parade, Abhilasha Barak was commissioned in the Indian Armys Corps of Army Air Defence (AAD).As a young officer, Abhilasha performed exceptionally well in her military courses. In 2018, she secured an A grade in her Army Air Defence Young Officers (YOs) Course.In the same year, Abhilasha Barak managed to secure 75.70% in the Air Traffic Management and Air Laws Course.Before being shortlisted to join the training for Army Aviation Corps, Abhilasha Barak successfully cleared the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) and Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS).After her selection, Abhilasha Barak reported to Combat Army Aviation Training School (CATS) at Nashik. In an interview, Abhilasha Barak said, After completing my training from Officers Training Academy, Chennai, in 2018, I opted for the Army Aviation Corps. As I was filling the form, I knew I was eligible for only ground duty role but I ended up mentioning that I had earlier qualified my Pilot Aptitude Battery Test and computerised pilot selection system in one go.
