Born and brought up in Surat, the Gujarati girl Aayushi Karnik is a 20-year-old singer, a guitarist and a songwriter who has been a part of a few bands. She has explored different music genres – from punk rock to blues. Eventually, she decided to stick to blues, which became her passion. Aayushi has been playing guitar since the age of 12, but it was during her high school days when she decided to work hard on the instrument. She was also a part of the school choir and carol singing competitions. She collaborated with Hardik Desai to form her first official band – ‘Zephyr’. This duo band lasted for a year, with some original compositions of theirs. Aayushi got inspired from a blues band from Shillong – Soulmate. She also got fascinated by memorable acts of Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, Robert Randolph, and Blackstrat Blues. Later, Aayushi formed an acoustic band named Red Blues, with a friend of hers on the guitars. This band soon got joined by other members. Aayushi has been a student of Architecture, and she finally decided to make music her ultimate profession. At present, she is busy with her compositions, and working hard to give solos from now onwards. She’s the youngest endorsee of FENDER music worldwide! Her influences include: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, John Mayer, Chet Atkins, Simon and Garfunkel, Gillian Welch, Jerry Reed, and David Rawlings, Jerry Douglas, Derek Trucks, Tony Rice, Jon Cleary, Django Reinhardt, Dave Matthews Band, Ray Charles, and Bonnie Raitt etc.
