Zuheb Khan is a professional tabla player based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi. Born on 2nd March 1993, Zuheb belongs to the famous Ajrara Gharana. He is the son of Ustad Naushad Ahmed Khan. Zuheb undertook training from his maternal uncle and well-known tabla player, Ustad Akram Khan, and grandfather, Ustad Hashmat Ali Khan. Zuheb started his learning when he was only three years old. His first stage performance was at the tender age of five at the Russian Embassy alongside his father. Zuheb has performed in various prestigious festivals all over in India like Kashi Baithak in Delhi, Harballabh Sangeet Sabha in Jalander, ITC Sangeet Samellan, Darpan Music Festival, NCPA in Mumbai, Taj Mahotsav in Agra, Tansen Samaroh in Gwalior, Raag Rang Festival, Akashvani Sangeet Sammellan, Bhaskar Rao Samaroh in Chandigarh, Youth Festival, SA MA PA Sangeet Sammellan, American Embassy, ASK Project in South Korea, and Australian Embassy to name a few. He was awarded a gold medal at the tender age of 14 by the great Sarod Maestro, Sharan Rani. He has performed with many legendary artists like Marcela Hersh (famous Mexican pianist), Pandit Shubendro Rao, Ustad Nishat Khan (Sitar maestro), Pandit Rajendra Prasanna Ustad Ahmed Mohammad Hussain, Anupriya Deotale (Violin maestro), and many more artists in India and abroad. Zuheb is appreciated both in the field of percussion and music throughout the world as an international phenomenon. A classical tabla virtuoso of the highest order, his consistently brilliant and exciting performances has not only established him as a national treasure in his own country but abroad as well. His playing is marked by his uncanny intuition and masterful improvisational dexterity. Founded in impressive knowledge and study, he has not let his genius rest there.
