VOLK started their journey in July 2014 when Sayan (bassist) introduced Anirban-Gablu (drummer) and Niladri (guitarist) to the other members of the band Aniruddha (guitarist) and Daipayan (vocals) and finally the band completed. The main motto of their music, VOLK symbolizes "The Common People". The band believes their music is based on freedom, anti-establishment, agony, frustration, love, social attire, etc. After two months of hardcore rehearsals and endless effort, the band appeared for the gigs and it is still going on. The list of awards achieved by the band: Runners up at National Medical College Kolkata (AGON 2014) Runners up at Calcutta Medical College Kolkata (RAPHSODY 2014) Runners up at Junction Jam 4.0 Durgapur Champion at Rockomenia Howrah Zone  Runners up at Rockomenia 2014 Kolkata and Orissa Zone Semi-finalist at Rockomenia 2014 from all over North-East India  Runners up at BAND ER JUDHDHO 2014
