The SIRAHA Trio is the coming together of renowned jazz pianist Harmeet Manseta, child prodigy U. Rajesh on Mandolin and the world percussionist Sivamani
A sought after performer, Sivamani is widely recognized as one of the best pair of hands in the world of percussion. In Jan. 2015, he was given the coveted LQA Award as the ‘Best Live Instrumentalist’. Ustaad Zakir Hussain, in a concert, presented him as a “phenomenon that walks the planet but once or twice in a century”. The SIRAHA Trio also features the Kolkata-based fine, young jazz keyboardist, Harmeet Manseta (now popular as A.R. Rahman’s Pianist on his MTV Unplugged concert) & child prodigy U. Rajesh on Mandolin, younger brother of Mandolin maestro Late Shri U. Srinivas. Whilst he followed his brother, who pioneered the concept of playing Indian Classical on the Mandoiln, Rajesh is highly acclaimed by critics and connoisseurs alike for his unique ‘world soundscapes’. The SIRAHATrio’s music is mostly raag-based but with western harmonies and the magic of Sivamani’s world percussions woven into it.
