Teji Toko is a professional instrumentalist based out of Arunachal Pradesh. He is a highly regarded drummer based in India. The northeastern part of the country is known for its rich western music influence which peaked his curiosity, and he began singing at the age of seven. Always fascinated with rhythm and grooves, he gravitated towards the drums at the age of sixteen and has dedicated every moment then on to perfecting his art. Teji has a very open mind towards music and shares the stage with a dynamic set of artists like Ommak Kommut collective, Ron Cha Trio, Royal Flush, T.A.Z, and Sacred Secrecy. From bebop jazz to extreme death metal, Teji’s ability to tackle every genre in its most authentic way speaks leaps and bounds about his versatility. Teji believes knowledge needs to be shared, he regularly conducts workshops and jam spaces for the musicians in his locality and has built a community over the years. In 2016, he has established a state of the art audio and visual recording facility for the people of the North East. Teji now wishes venture out to an international audience with his music this year. He has been mentored by the masters in their respective styles, Prassana, Jordan Rudess, Steve Zerlin, Panagiotis Andreou, Phil Maturano, Danis Prieto, Harvey Wirth, Karina Collis, and Ferenc Nemeth.
