Sithara Krishnakumar is a professional singer based out of Kochi, Kerala. She is an acclaimed playback singer and a known figure in the ghazal and Hindustani music circles. She is an ‘A’ graded artist by All India Radio. She is making her presence felt in the music industry following a string of success in various music and talent shows. She sang more than 50 songs for films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. A singer who respects and takes her profession seriously, Sithara likes to learn and experiment with folk and fusion genres of music. Moreover, Sithara is also a trained classical dancer. Born in Kozhikode to a family of musical tradition, Sithara showed keen interest in music from a very early age. Her parents spotted her talent and decided to nurture her skills. She was introduced to Sri Ramanattukara Sathish and Pala CK Ramachandran, who initially trained her in Carnatic classical music. She is currently training in Hindustani music under Sri Vijayasenan and Ustad Fiyaz Khan. Her multifaceted talents have never gone unnoticed. She was honoured with the Kalathilakam title for two consecutive years while she was a graduate student at the Calicut University.
