Shriya Pilgaonkar, born on 25th April 1989 is a professional Indian stage performer, actress, director, and a producer. She is the daughter of Sachin Pilgaonkar, an Indian actor, director and producer and Supriya Pilgaonkar who is also an Indian actress. Shriya grew up learning to be a professional swimmer and won several medals at school. She also learned Japanese as a child. Shriya completed her graduation in sociology from Mumbai. Shriya also knows Kathak. Shriya made her debut as a child actor in Hindi serial Tu Tu Main Main. Her acting debut came in 2012 with Karan Shetty's short play Freedom of Love. The play made a name for her, and she starred in the Marathi film Ekulti Ek which was written, directed and produced by Sachin Pilgaonkar. She won six awards for that film including the Maharashtra State Government Award for Best Debut Actress. Shriya's first big breakthrough came in 2016 when she was selected for the movie Fan and was starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Shriya was shooting for a French film "˜Un plus Une' at the same time which was directed by Oscar-winning director Claude Lelouche. Shriya has also directed several short films including Painted Signal, Panchgavya, and Dresswala. The films Painted Signal and Dresswala were screened at various international film festivals.
