Prithviraj is the son of late Malayalam actor Sukumaran and Malayalam actress Mallika Sukumaran.He started his acting career in 2002 by playing the role of Manu Nandakumar in the Malayalam film Nandanam.He is the only person to date, who has won the title of Mr. LA Fest twice in the Annual Inter-School arts festival hosted by Loyola School, Thiruvananthapuram.He has worked in many languages such as Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.Apart from being an actor, he is also a playback singer and has sung numerous Malayalam songs like Kaane Kaane, Kaattu Paranjathum, Kettille Kettille, Njan, etc.In 2010, he became the brand ambassador of hi-tech ambulance services 108, which was launched by the National Rural Health Mission. He also represented Kalyan Silks.In 2011, he won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam (Producer) and Kerala State Film Award for Best Film (Producer) for the Malayalam film Indian Rupee.He also won Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actor for the Malayalam films Vaasthavam (2006), Celluloid (2013), and Ayalum Njanum Thammil (2012).In 2013, he won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor South for the Malayalam film Celluloid.He runs a restaurant named Spice Boat in Doha, Qatar along with his brother and mother.
