One of the most noted bassists in the national music scene...”(  “...better known as Bumpy ,needs no introduction...”( Mainak “Bumpy” Nag Chowdhury,as he is known nationally and internationally, is bass player, Music Composer-Arranger-Director-Producer and the creator of his own signature double neck bass guitar series, Maitrayee Basses. His versatility with different genre, particularly made a mark with his ease in dealing with and adapting Hindustani and Carnatic Classical idioms on an instrument like his custom designed double neck bass with “Taraf “ and “Chikari” strings makes him one of the busiest collaborating bass player/composer with some of the most eminent artists of the Indian Classical Scene and International Jazz Scene He is a disciple of singer and music composer,Kalaimammani Awardee from the Govt of India, late. R . Visweswaran of Chennai, mridangist Vidwan S. Shekhar of Kolkata ,sarod maestro Pratyush Banerjee , percussionist Monojit Datta,tabla maestro Pt Tanmoy Bose and guitarist Amyt Datta of Kolkata.
