One of the leading vocalists, lyricists and composers in the Bengali music industry, Koushik is a musician having a creative edge in the true sense. His love for classical music is unparalleled and is easily visible during his performances. The lighter and cleaner texture in his voice is appreciated by the maestros of classical singing all across the Bengali music fraternity.
Like most other Bengali families, his parents were inclined to classical music and arts. He started learning at a very young of 6 and soon became a child prodigy. Koushik’s father, K.D. Chakraborty was his guide in the initial years. In the later years, he learned classical music from Chandra Sekhar Roy, a renowned musician in the Bangla music scenario.
Koushik is the lead vocalist and lyricist of the band, PRITHIBI. He has also directed and sung for several digital films, daily soaps and jingles. He is soon going to release a solo album titled - “Bakigoto.” Koushik has also completed a research on Bengali folk music.
His passion makes him swing through different roles of a musician. From singing to writing and playing different instruments - guitar, keyboard and percussions, he is able to do justice to each one of them with great excellence, at the pubs and shows that Koushik plays in.
