A flute player puts his breaths into the flute and makes music, until then a flute is just another musical instrument. One of our most prayed mythological God Krishna was also a flute player and its said that “when he plays the flute, the universe listens.” A not so contradictory line for Krishnamurthi Bhaskaran too. Coming from a mother who was herself a Veena player and a vocalist, Krishnamurti was a dexterous child of art. He recognised his interests at an age when most people could hardly speak. Following his sister in her music lessons he developed his interest in music at an early age of 2. Later at the age of 10 his brother taught him the basics and he did not just stop there. He went further to his mother for more guidance. Recognising his talent and interest mother Smt. Lakshmi Krishnamurthy took him to his guru MAYAVARAM Smt. Saraswathi Ammal popularly knowns as Mayavaram Papa in music circle. K Bhaskaran is now an international star, his flute is the life of the concerts. He has modelled the creative process of “kalpana swaras” and has also developed a software program for it.
