Kum K Jyothsna and Kum K Radhika are naturally talented in music, having imbibed the art form from their great grand fathers, both maternal and paternal.
Their paternal great-grandfather was Sri Dharmarajaiyer, founder of Sri Sanathana Dharma Vidhya Shala in Alleppey and also a connoisseur of art. He organised several concerts and was held in high esteem by the renowned artists of yesteryears like GNB, MS, and others.
Their parents discovered their musical talents when they were quite young. It was Jyothsna who began to show signs of interest in Carnatic music by purchasing a whole lot of cassettes of Shri Maharajapuram Santhanam when she was awarded Rs 250 as proficiency prize at the age of six.
