Indranil Deb is an investment banker with over 15 years of experience in the Indian financial services industry with extensive exposure in the areas of Equities Research, Financial Restructuring, Private Equity, M&A and Wealth Management.     He is the Principal, Mobius Strip Capital Advisors, a specialist Corporate Finance, PE & M&A Advisory. His last stint was with Sagacious Financial Services Ltd. Mumbai as Senior Vice President (M&A, Private Equity Advisory and WMS) where he was engaged in business and financial structuring and restructuring of several companies-positioning them for attracting private equity investment-balancing considerations of risk-return of PE investors, macro and industry factors, business fundamentals, shareholding and management control issues and playing an active role in investment negotiations. He was effective in re-positioning Sagacious Financial Services as a serious player in the business.   Prior to Sagacious, Indranil was engaged in running and growing a wealth management services business constructed around a core of financial planning, asset allocation and equities portfolio management, with direct participation in portfolio investments, branding-building, recruitment, training, sales and operations as Head of WMS-Angel Broking.   Indranil has worked with both specialist nimble investment advisory outfits and large fund-based NBFCs in India with insights on both the buy-side and sell-side as an analyst, advisor and an entrepreneur with experience in selling investment ideas, making investor presentations, managing the distribution process of equity and debt products- negotiations, distribution networks, setting goals and targets and intermediaries' incentives, etc.   Indranil is a keen student of global macro economic trends, public finance and policy, fiscal and monetary policies, trade and exchange-rate policies and how they impact global money flows, institutional investment decision-making and capital market actions. He is considered a strategist who sees the big picture and is able to plan and implement ground-level tactics with a hands-on approach, by his clients.   His earlier roles have been as VP(PE, M&A and WMS) at Sagacious Financial Services Ltd., VP & National Head(WMS and Institutional Business) at Angel Broking, VP(Investment Banking-Sales) at Atherstone Capital(Asia) Ltd.,  Area Manager, Wipro Finance Ltd. and Credit Manager at Reliance Capital Ltd.   Indranil is an alumnus of T. A. PAI MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE, Manipal, Karnataka PGDM(Finance), 1993 and SYDENHAM COLLEGE OF COMMERCE & ECONOMICS, Bombay University), Mumbai- Bachelor of Commerce, 1990   Indranil was awarded the 1st Rank in Finance 1993(T.A. PAI MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE, PGDM Program) and a State Scholarship for the 1st  Rank in Book Keeping, 16th Rank in State Overall 1987- ASSAM HIGHER SECONDARY EDUCATION COUNCIL(Government Of Assam). He is an alumnus of the Centre for Learning, Innovation and Change(CLIC)-one of the Centres of Excellence at the Indian School of Business(ISB, Hyderabad). He enjoys reading both fiction and non-fiction and listening to classical rock, jazz and guitar music.   Indranil's writings on the markets have appeared in DNA(Money). Indranil has been quoted in the Financial Express on the different aspects of the impact of the global financial crisis and S&P's downgrading of India's sovereign rating on Indian business; the implications of the reporting of the AIG's losses for the 4th quarter 2008 and the influence of President Obama's protectionist policies on European countries.   Indranil has a serious involvement with business management education in Indian and has been invited as a Speaker on subjects related to the financial services industry of special interest to students and investors, at the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, the Assam Institute of Management, the Gauhati University and the Ernakulam District Cooperative Bank. Indranil's last appearance as a Speaker was on February 14,2009, at IIT Madras-Department of Management Studies, where, as part of the Corporate Wisdom Series of the Institute, he spoke on the impact of the Global Financial Crisis on the Indian capital markets. He was invited to be a part of the panel represented by industry-experts enrolled for interviewing candidates for the Post Graduate Management Programmes of the S.P. Mandali's WE School(Welingkar Education) for 2009-11.    Indranil is a member of the Bombay Management Association and the Thomsonreuters Circle for Dealmakers.
