Conspectus is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. It started out as a six-piece progressive band in the late 2011. The band was going well with the expectation of getting good gigs to showcase their skills. But, due to some unexpected occurrences of trouble between the band members, it got disbanded. But the hope of creating rich, groovy and technical tunes, Matilal and Soutrik stuck together for a new beginning. Although the band was formed more than three years back, the members have been performing as freelancers from quite a while. The genres for the band are progressive, ambient, deathcore, and technical music. Some of the band’s influences are Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Threat Signal, Tesseract, Protest The Hero, The Contortionist, Reflections, Gengis Tron, Despised Icon, After The Burial, Animals As Leaders, Veil Of Maya, Vildhjarta, Meshuggah, Carnifex, Volumes, Angel Vivaldi, and Pink Floyd.
