"The largest and capital city of Rajasthan, Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Jai Singh II, a ruler of Amer. Since then, the city has become one of the busiest tourist destinations all across the country.
Thanks to its rich culture, tradition, heritage, and monuments, the state attracts a lot of tourist attraction. Jaipur was the leader of producing high-class products like block printing, bandhani, stone carving, tarkashi, ivory carving, leatherware, etc.
The city also has its own performing arts. The Jaipur Gharana is one of the three of the major classical dance gharanas of North India. This gharana is known for its vivacious body movements and intricate dance forms.
Musically, Jaipur has produced some of India’s finest bands like Winter Gate, The Lost Symbol, Gypsy Sand Dunes, D6/59, Rajasthan Roots, etc.

Winter Gate

The band is unparalleled in India and to a great extent even worldwide where it comes to creating music with such finesse and poise.
Formed in 2008, Winter Gate struggled with its music and lineups. In 2013, the band finally got signed to Transcending Obscurity India with which the band did shows around the country. The Lost Symbol
The band released its first single (Jee lo) in 2012, which didn't do much good. Later, the same year, they recorded 'Titliyaan' and 'Pyaar Mera', which turned out to be hits.

Gypsy Sand Dunes

Gypsies from Rajasthan specializes in performing Indo-Western Fusion Music, Folk, Sufi, Classical, Instrumental Taal-Kachari and Traditional Dance forms like Kalbelia, Chari Dance, Ghoomer, Terah tali etc.
Gypsy Sand Dunes have more than eighty Rajasthani folk artist from different art field like musician, dancer etc. They are dedicated to the documentation and promotion of all Rajasthani folk traditional forms.


The big bang of D6/59 universe began in the capital city of Rajasthan, Jaipur in 2012. D6 emitted its first-ever original composition 'Painful Addiction' in Youtube, and Soundcloud. Though the lyrics and production were immature, it helped the mates to understand their genre and learn about their own taste.

Rajasthan Roots

Formed in 2005, by Aditya Bhasin aka Adi Das, under the mentorship of John and Faith Singh, and guidance of anthropologer, Vinod Joshi, of Jaipur Virasat Foundation, the band fulfills the need of contemporary interpretation of the folk music of Rajasthan and brings it to international standards.
