Blood Covenant is a LIVE band based out of Chennai. Formed in 2005, they are the pioneers of the death metal scene in South India. The band always delivers a brutal mix of death, grind, and extreme metal. You have to experience this band LIVE on stage to understand the power and intensity of it. Blood Covenant is an extreme metal band that has found a top spot in the annals of Indian metal. It was formed in late 2005 and was the first of its kind to play extreme death/black metal in India. The band’s lyrics are centred on the Bible. The name of the band was derived from the New Testament. They have received recognition from one of the greatest Christian metal band, Living Sacrifice. The band's frontman, Eddie, is known as the Godfather of the metal scene in Chennai. He was one of the founding members of the extreme metal band, Bonesaw, of the 90’s and a cultural promoter of music between India and France. Thorn, the bassist, uses a custom made Vampire bass to rip open the low frequencies. Total annihilation can be expected! He has many side projects in Sweden and Germany. Slaughtur (Ronald) vanquishes demons with gut wrenching vocals and teeth grinding riffs. His influences range from black metal to old school death. Hurricane, the band’s drummer, is one of India's fastest drummers in India. He is the powerhouse of the band. Sometimes, you have to look again to make sure it is him playing, not a drum machine! This is one band that has to be experienced LIVE on stage. Their music is not advisable for the faint-hearted and weak. Pure death metal with a terrorizing stage act, they have even made sure to bring the roof down once.
