Bindu Bolar is a professional dancer based out of the IT capital of India, Bangalore. After seeing a performance of tribal fusion belly dance of Rachel Brice, she fell in love with this dance form. She was trained in oriental belly dance by Anna Olkinuora from UK, after which, she taught herself tribal fusion dance. She won the first-ever belly dance competition in India and the title of ‘the most Hip-notic Belly Dancer of 2013’, International Belly Dance Festival, Bangalore. She was intensively trained in the art of tribal fusion belly dancing with Moria Chappell, Artistic Director of Belly Dance Superstars, USA. She also attended workshops of Ebony Qualls (USA) and Tamar Bar-gil (Israel). Because of her expertise in tribal fusion belly dance and her unique style, she is also called 'The Tribalina' within the belly dance community. Born in Mangalore, she completed her MCA from Manipal University and got placed in the software field. Later, she quit her IT job to pursue dance as her career as she knew that this is where her heart and soul belongs. Bindu has more than eight years of experience in the dancing field and has conducted several belly dance workshops in Bangalore, Mangalore, Coimbatore, Pune, Salem, Mumbai, and Chennai. She is also trained in other forms of dance like kathak, b-boying, hip-hop, salsa, bachata, merengue, Bollywood, and contemporary. She has also performed as a guest for various shows in Bangalore. She has judged many dance events in RNSIT, KIMS, Infosys, Channel V India Fest, Pune International Dance Congress 5, etc. Bindu has choreographed for dance events and competitions in colleges and organizations like Infosys, HCL, IBM, Subex, NTTData, Welingkar Institute, KIMS, BMS, Rajarajeshwari Medical College, RV Engineering College, Span Infotech, Vishveshwariah Pharmaceutical College, Dhee reality show, Steps Dance Studio – Annual Event, National College, City College, and many more. She is the owner/Director of Lights Camera Dance, a place that has been training students in various forms of dance since 2007. It is her dream to spread the awareness of this beautiful dance form and connect more people to it.
