Asylum is a groove metal band from Navi Mumbai. The band was formed in March 2010 and consists of Anubhav Rattan (bass), Raghu Raj (drums), Vivek Bhatt (vocals) and Angad Singh Bahra (guitars). The band has played at a number of college fests in and around the city.   Influenced by great bands like Devildriver, Lamb of God and Gojira, they have one aim as a band – to keep their fans and themselves happy with the music they belt out. One of the unique qualities of Asylum is that all of them believe in quality over quantity. They spend hours and hours in creating music, and only stop when they are completely satisfied with what they have made. When they hit the stage, though, they are all about having fun and entertaining the audience. They released their 5 track debut EP 'Inmate' in January 2014 which was received extremely well. Inmate was recorded with Arun Iyer from Mumbai-based thrash metal band Devoid. They also opened for Swedish band NALE in Gandhinagar (Gujarat) for Ragnarock 2013 at DA-IICT College, entertaining an audience of approximately 3000 people. Their most recent show was the Entombed Metal Festival in Mumbai, which was headlined by legendary Japanesh death metallers Defiled.
