Ankit Upadhyay is a Delhi-based guitarist and a vocalist who is passionate about music, since childhood. He has been in love with his guitar ever since he started playing music. He takes private classes of guitar, and is also among the faculty at the Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, New Delhi. He is also learning sitar from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, New Delhi. Ankit started his vocal training back in 2009, from Pradeep Advani Institute of Performing Arts (PAIPA). He took up the guitar when he entered college in 2010, and began practicing from YouTube tutorials. He grasped the basics of guitar-playing so quickly that he got appointed as the substitute guitar teacher – teaching basics to newbies, at PAIPA. By 2012, Ankit turned out to be a self-taught acoustic guitarist. It was the time when he decided to explore more, and thus he got his fingers on the electric guitars. In 2013, Ankit joined the Parikrama School of Music to undergo training in electric guitar, and has been learning there, since then. He is currently getting training from the famous guitarist of Parikrama band – Sonam Sherpa. Ankit Upadhyay has performed with the Delhi-based band Yuva Beats, at Delhi University in 2013. He has also performed as the lead guitarist in the Najafgarh Concert. He has been playing with his bands in lots of campus events. Currently, Ankit is the lead guitarist of the Delhi-based band Ruhaani, and also guitarist/lead vocalist of the band Jamarune.
