Ustaad Moinuddin Khan comes from the Jaipur Gharana of Hindustani Classical Music. As his name represents, so he is. He is an expert Sarangi Player. He never fails to tranquilize his audience with the melody of his instrument. He learnt to play Sarangi from his father Ustaad Mehboob Khan from the age of 7. He himself trains his son, Momin Khan to become an expert Musician. He is renowned for dignified method of presenting ASTHAI-ALAAP-ANTRA in Vilambit and DRUT with LAYAKARI has an extereme control over TAN – GAMAK playing. He has as well performed various solo programs for All India Radio Jaipur and worked along with them for several years. Government has conferred the fourth highest civilian award Padma shree To Ustaad Khan. He was won several state-level and national-level awards during his career, including a state-level award on Republic Day, 1994. He also received acclaim to his sarangi renditions as he appeared in a sequence of 1999 English film- Holy smoke!, shot in Pushkar. He was shown playing sarangi along with his disciples and actress Kate Winslet was also featured in the scene. He has been a guide to many Famous people as a musician, as he loves to render the richness of Music.
