Kabir Khan is a renowned Bollywood director, screenwriter, and cinematographer. In his childhood days, he studied at Kirori Mal College of Delhi University, as well as Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi. Kabir started his career with Discovery Channel's documentary film Beyond the Himalayas (1996) directed by Gautam Ghosh as a cinematographer. He went on to make his documentary ‘The Forgotten Army' in 1999 as a director. Kabir debuted in mainstream cinema with Kabul Express which made him win the Indira Gandhi Award for the Best Debut Film Director in the 54th National Film Awards. Kabir then went on to direct two more films with Yash Raj Films, i.e., New York and Ek Tha Tiger.
His most successful film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, went viral among the audience and critics alike. Kabir Khan has signed Ranveer Singh to play Kapil Dev in his next sports biography '83 based on India's victory in 1983 Cricket World Cup, which will release in early 2020.
