DJ Aqeel, also known as Aqeel Ali, is a professional DJ based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai.
He is the only Indian DJ who has filled up concert sized venues on an international scale.
He was the only DJ to play twice at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Swiss). He represented India and entertained dignitaries like Bill Clinton, Kofi Annan and others.
His first album Shake it Daddy Mix was an instant hit among music lovers.
Aqeel released nine blockbuster albums and sold over seven million copies worldwide that redefined the landscape of Bollywood music.
Some of his masterpieces are Forever-2 (2012) that has songs like Kya Dekhte Ho which is a remake of the famous song from the movie Qurbani (1980).
His remixes include Edge of Glory by Lady Gaga, Kajra Re from Bunty aur Babli, Dard-E-Disco and Deewangi from Om Shanti Om, the title track of Dus Kahaniyaan, Lazy Lamhe from Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic and Saawariya. He has also introduced the first ever DJ-owned record label in the country under the brand Power Play Records and released compilations albums featuring some of India’s finest talents.
Aqeel owns clubs like RSVP (Delhi) and One Beach (Goa), the nightclub chain Hype (Mumbai, Delhi, Goa and Ludhiana) and Poison in Mumbai.
He has spun at the sangeet and weddings of Saif and Kareena, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and many more. Corporate tycoons hired him for their events such as the sangeet night of Laxmi Mittal’s daughter.
